Automating document data entry for a logistics operator

The challenge
At a logistics operator, part of the administrative team spent a large share of the day on the same cycle: opening emails, downloading invoices and waybills, typing them into the ERP, and updating control spreadsheets. Every typo generated rework and disputes with suppliers.
The solution
We developed RPA bots in Python that read incoming documents, extract the relevant fields, validate them against business rules, and record them in the ERP. Cases that fail validation are not forced through: they enter an exception queue where a person reviews them. Every bot action is logged and traceable.
