Consistent inventory across plant, ERP, and e-commerce for a manufacturer
The challenge
A manufacturing company operated with three systems that did not talk to each other: the administrative ERP, the plant control system, and the online store. Inventory was updated manually in each one, hours apart, producing sales of out-of-stock products and permanent double data entry.
The solution
We built an integration layer (middleware) that synchronizes inventory and orders across the three systems in real time. The integration includes automatic retries during temporary outages of any system, alerts when a message cannot be processed, and full traceability of every synchronization.
Service
- Inventory became consistent across plant, ERP, and online store
- Double data entry between systems was eliminated
- Connection failures are caught by early alerts instead of being discovered through customer complaints
